This report briefly reviews statistical information on 1997 female delinquency cases, based on data from nearly 2,000 courts with jurisdictions over 71 percent of the U.S. juvenile population in 1997. It describes the types of offenses committed by juvenile female offenders and provides additional data on detention, intake decisions, waiver to criminal court, and adjudication and disposition.
