This report from the National Center for Juvenile Justice lists statistics on the violence caused by and directed towards juveniles in 1997. The data offered in this report is broken down into three sections: victims, offenders and corrections. The document contains victim statistics on the following subject matters: homicide, suicide, victimization and abuse/neglect. Also contained in the offender section are statistics on: high school students and weapons, violent crime arrest trends, trying juveniles as adults, violent juvenile court cases, sentencing, etc. The corrections section of the report includes information on custody population, crowding in custody facilities, minority overrepresentation, the death penalty, etc.
