This document offers an analysis of state statutes governing state legislative compliance with 223(a)(12)(A) and 223(a)(13) of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act, which regard the deinstitutionalization of status offenders and non-offenders and the separation of children from adult offenders. The report, which is in tabular format, indicates that in 16 of the 51 United States jurisdictions the legislation reviewed generally complies with the requirements of the JJDP provisions. Thirteen jurisdictions are generally in compliance as to both subsections.
