This report highlights findings from a study conducted by NCJJ that examines the prevalence of multi-system involvement among youth referred to the King County Juvenile Court on delinquency matters in 2006. The study found that about two-thirds of all youth referred on a delinquency matter had some form of child welfare involvement and that such involvement is correlated to poorer juvenile justice outcomes including time spent in detention and recidivism.
